Welcome to the UAHS Orchestra program!! 

We are so excited that you have chosen to participate in Orchestra this year!  We are looking forward to a great year, full of opportunities for you to grow musically, educationally and socially.  This letter contains important information about important Orchestra events.  Please read carefully and make note of all dates, especially concert commitments.  Feel free to contact any of us if you have questions.   We’re looking forward to seeing all of you in a few weeks.

 

 

SUNDAY, AUGUST 25TH 5-8 PM UAHS ORCHESTRA PICNIC – UAHS Cafeteria

 

Our annual picnic will take place in the HS Cafeteria. 

It is important that all students attend and bring at least one parent.  We’ll be doing uniform/shoe fittings, yard sign orders, volunteer sign-up, Maestro Circle donations and going over important information for the year.  All students needing a uniform MUST be present to get measured!Please bring a dish to share as noted below. ORCHESTRA VOLUNTEERS

There is an expectation that all parents will volunteer in some way with the Upper Arlington Orchestra Parent Association (UAOPA).   As you can see from the activities listed above, parent volunteers are the backbone that helps our excellent orchestra programs thrive at every level. In addition to the links to help with the Blitz and picnic, we will have an opportunity for parents to sign up at the picnic to volunteer at future events!!

SUNDAY, AUGUST 18  5:30-8PM  UAOPA BLITZ – UAHS Cafeteria
The UAOPA Blitz is our annual community fundraiser held in conjunction with the Band.  It is our largest fundraiser and all Orchestra students are expected to participate!!  Students are encouraged to form a group of four and use the Sign-up Genius link to register their group.  Non-registered students will be placed into groups of four with a volunteer parent driver and will be assigned a route to canvas for donations.  We need at least 40 parent drivers so please use the following Sign-up Genius link to volunteer to help.  Parent volunteers are required to register at the UA High School Office (1650 Ridgeview Rd.) by 8/16 (unless they have a white volunteer badge) and bring a driver’s license and insurance card the night of the Blitz.  The High School Office is open M-F 7:30am - 4pm and parents need to tell the receptionist that they are registering for the Orchestra Blitz.
