How You Can Help!

Financially
As a non-profit ministry affiliated with the ELCA, but not its own congregation, Lutheran Campus Ministry of San

Antonio relies on the benevolence of donors and special fundraising events such as our Annual Golf Tournament.

While a major portion of the LCMSA budget is provided by mission support from the Southwestern Texas Synod and Churchwide expressions of the ELCA, and the "business" end of this ministry is run through Zion Lutheran Church, it is still financially necessary to supplement our income to be a success in reaching out to the college students we serve now and into the future.

If you are able to provide a tax deductible donation, please contact Campus Pastor Heather Hansen by e-mail at hhansen@zionsa.org.

Spiritually/Emotionally

Prayer:

As Christians, we do believe that prayer is a deep part of expressing our faith.  As such, LCMSA very much appreciates your prayers!  Specifically, please pray for the students, the leaders, and those we are reaching out to who seek a word of God's grace and love and may not have heard it yet.

Adopt a Student:

If you would like to "adopt" a Roadrunner, Tiger, or other student in campus ministry, we would welcome that too!  Adopting a student, or two, does not have a specific "job description", but here are a few suggestions for families who "adopt" (you, of course, do not have to do them all, or you can be creative and come up with other ideas too!):

-call your student(s) a couple times per month and see how they are doing

     -pray for them regularly

-take them out to eat or better yet, prepare a home-cooked meal for your student(s)

-invite them to church and if needed provide transportation to church

-attend your student's activities if they play sports, perform musically/theatrically, lead service opportunities, etc

-invite your student to family game night with you and your children

     -host a movie night

Again, these are just a few ideas for how you can be present with and share God's love with a college student!

Time and Talent:

If you have a particular skill you can share, such as carpentry, mechanics, time management, etc., please contact Pastor Heather to find ways you can share with the students!  Remember, college is about life-learning and not just book-learning!

OR

If you would just like to come and eat dinner with the group and talk about your faith, or tag along on a service project, you are creating meaningful, faith based relationships...and we all need that!
