The project, which had its beginnings almost three years ago,  is now 100% complete and online!  The system comes with a 25 year warranty and is all American-made components. This two year project’s USDA funds were matched with FOBL’s contribution of $13,750.
Per Bright House Energy estimation, there will be a 60% decrease in the library energy bill this summer.  This is double the original goal of a 30% decrease!
On Monday, March 27th, USDA Community Facilities Director, Anita Lopez and Andrew Jacobs, Community Programs Specialist, visited our facility.  They are based in Sacramento.  Jose Guardado, Regional Director of Modesto USDA RD office, Bill Hayter, Madera County Grants and Special Projects Manager, and Mike Clower of Bright House Energy guided her tour of the Solar Project and the Library Community Room.
The Library Community Room was completed in 2013 with USDA RD funds matched by FOBL funds.
